Rob texted me early to get us out on a discovery hike around our resort and onto the beach. The noise of the waves crashing onto the shore makes for a relaxing walk. We saw a few interesting things like a few hollowed wave runners (no engine in them but probably used as small fishing boats for locals.
A few sleeping locals in their hammocs and a local hotel that was abandoned just in the shadows of the large hotel Americanna resort. We walked by a thatched hut, maybe abandonned?
A city tour was arranged for us by the resort concierge. Picked us up at 940am at the lobby of our hotel then it was off to walk the main old city, which included a walk into the church in PV. A very special and old place built in the early 1900's. Its beautiful gold adournned altars and stained glass makes this small church amazingly beautiful!
Next stop was a Mexican Gem Museum that showed the various local stones that come from in and around mexico. From onyx to obsidian to silver and gold. They turned a downtown shop into chambers of lower earth and caves...pretty amazing place. Beck and Rachel bought a few small silver earrings with stones.
Next stop was to taste coffee...and eat small cocao nuts...the size of an almond, removing the skin revealing a small cocao seed inside. Very bitter. We were able to pull coffee beans from a small coffee roaster to taste. Interestingly the beans themselves were crunchy and tasty. They had us try small cups of the local coffee with cinnamon. Yummy!
Next stop...lunch and tequila at Rancho Verano and Don Chendo!
This small town up on the hill is beautiful! and the tequila was amazing! Lunch wasn't bad either!!!
It was back to the resort ...hanging out at the pool...with more drinking and relaxing!
